Rings will change in appearance, especially with daily wear. Cuffs not as much and bracelets less so. Necklaces and Earrings seem to retain their patina for years.
Patina is a natural process that happens to objects with long expose to open air and a discolouration appears due to oxidation.
I use a chemical application of Liver of Sulfur as a surface treatment. The silver is instantaneously oxidized and achieves a blackened colour. Each piece is oxidized by hand and slight variations in finishes should be expected.
This treatment will wear off in the high areas over time causing a patina that is unique to the piece. For best results, remove jewellery when showering and swimming or when applying lotions and perfumes.
Although I include a complimentary polishing cloth with each order, do not use the polishing cloth or a silver cleaner on oxidized areas.
When not in use, store your jewellery in an airtight baggie.
